Changes to the Aflatoxin Controls Regulation

  From 18th June 2019 Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/890 will make the following amendments to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 884/2014. Changes to competent authorities who can issue and sign health certificates: • the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) (Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA)) and Sistema Nacional de Vigiláncia Sanitária (SNVS) for feed and food from Brazil; • the Ethiopian Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority (FMHACA) for food from Ethiopia; • the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (SENASA)) and the National Institute of Nutrition (Instituto Nacional de Alimentos (INAL)) for feed and food from Argentina; • the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for food from Azerbaijan Changes to products and sampling frequency (Figs from Turkey, Hazelnuts from Turkey, Dried Spices from India)

Exempted imports The Regulation will not apply to imports which are: • destined for a private person for personal consumption and use only • trade samples • laboratory samples • display items for exhibitions Provided that the gross weight does not exceed 30kg, and that they are not intended to be placed on the market or to be used for scientific purposes.
